Deacon Ministry

What is the role of a Deacon?

At Friendship, each individual member or family is assigned a Deacon, who oversees the practical, daily care of the congregation. This care includes addressing prayer needs, conducting home visits, and providing support to families in need of assistance. Our Deacons serve as a communication bridge among the congregation, the pastor, and the church staff. They maintain a roster of community resource contacts to guide individuals in need. The Deacons engage deeply in church life, reflecting our faith through dedicated service. We are devoted servants of Christ and His people.

Who should call a Deacon?

If a person or family has a need or concern of any degree or importance, they may call a Deacon for assistance. No concern is too small or too large. The Deacons are available and want to assist you.

Trustee Ministry

What is the role of a Trustee?

The Friendship Baptist Church trustees manage the church’s physical assets and legal matters as good stewards. They oversee property maintenance, insurance, budgets, and investments. Trustees collaborate with leadership to ensure that operations align with the church’s mission and comply with legal requirements. They act as legal representatives for property transactions and documents. Trustees oversee business aspects such as building safety, financial accountability, and risk management.  Although their role is distinct from spiritual leadership, it is essential for a fruitful ministry.

How does the Trustee Board Operate?

  • Stewardship: Trustees utilize their spiritual gifts (such as administration) to manage resources responsibly, guided by biblical calls to good stewardship (1 Peter 4:10).
  • Teamwork: They work collaboratively with pastors, staff, and other church committees.
  • Accountability: Trustees are accountable to God and the congregation for the proper administration of their responsibilities.
